LAAB Accreditation
The Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) is the official accreditation body for landscape architecture degrees in the United States. LAAB evaluates programs based on their stated objectives and compliance with externally mandated minimum standards. This process includes a self-study conducted by the program to assess how well it meets its educational goals. New programs typically receive accreditation after the graduation of their first class of students.
Tulane University will initiate the process of preparing an application for LAAB accreditation upon the commencement of the Master of Landscape Architecture program. The program has already received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It should be noted that the Master of Science in River-Coastal Science and Engineering component of this dual degree is fully accredited and does not require any additional approvals from external accreditation boards.
